Thule Urban Glide 2 Review
Posted by Active Baby Canadian Online Baby Store on 2018 May 24th
If you are looking for something sleek and attractive, while still being sturdy and dependable, you are probably already familiar with Thule strollers, but what you may not know is how the Thule Glide has been upgraded in 2018, so let’s take a look!
Updated with New Features!
Thule Strollers are already known as high-performance joggers, but now they are also perfect for your everyday life as well.Thule Urban Glide 2 Stroller differs from the previous model in a number of ways, but perhaps the most significant changes are the additional twist handbrake, and the ability to attach the bassinet. This means you can use the Urban Glide 2 from day one—though obviously only for strolls for the first 6 months.
Like the previous model, the Thule Urban Glide 2 is a three-wheeler, with a 12” front wheel and 16” rear wheels, which have been made sturdier and more robust. The front wheel can swivel or lock, allowing maneuverability or more stability depending on your needs, and the built-in suspension easily handles bumps in the road, giving a smooth, comfortable ride; it’s called Glide for a reason!
The Glide’s seat is nicely padded and has a weight capacity of 75 lbs, with a backrest that can be locked at any angle. The reclining mechanism allows you to lower the backrest one-handed, though you will need two to raise it.
It’s worth noting that it doesn’t recline to a completely flat position, so it is not suitable for newborns.
The Thule Urban Glide 2 can also be used as a travel system. Simply add the proper adapter, then attach the car seat, without removing the toddler seat. Transitioning to and from the car is quick and easy.
Safety Features
New safety features have also been added that differentiate it from the previous model, such as the upgraded handbrake. Rather than squeezing the brake, you twist the handlebar. This allows a greater degree of control, especially on steep or bumpy surfaces. Slow down and stop easily at any time. The control is literally in your hands.
In addition to the twist brake. There is also a foot brake for parking. The pedal sits between the two rear wheels for accessibility and is fairly large for ease of use.
Other safety features include reflective parts on the wheels and canopy, and a wrist strap that ensures the stroller won’t ever get away from you. It also comes with a 5-point harness that is padded and extra soft for comfort, while keeping baby safe.
The Thule Urban Glide 2: Great Functionality
In addition to housing the new twist brake, the handlebar has the same adjustability as the previous model, meaning it can pivot from 35.5” to 44” from the ground. This allows for a comfortable push for parents of different heights and helps avoid wrist fatigue.
The Thule Urban Glide 2 also comes with plenty of storage space, just like the previous model. Underneath the seat, you will find a large basket with a zippered cover. An additional zipper at the back allows for easy access.
Other storage includes a mesh pocket on the back of the seat, and two side pockets inside the seat. All your essentials will stay close at hand, as will baby’s sippy cup and small toys. You will be able to bring everything you need with you and still have room to spare.
At 25.3 lbs, the Thule Urban Glide 2 is a bit heavier than the previous model, but keep in mind that it is built to be strong and sturdy as it traverses all kinds of terrain while carrying a high weight limit.
When you are done strolling and jogging for the day, the Thule Urban Glide 2 folds down easily, even with one hand, though it stays fairly large. You can easily make it more compact, however, by removing the rear wheels with the push of a button.
When you are looking for a stylish but dependable jogger, the Thule Urban Glide 2 is ready for you, whether you seek a casual stroll or a healthy job. Check it out today!
