Clek Fabric in 2019: What’s New About It?

Already a favourite among parents everywhere, Clek is improving again in 2019 by making some important changes to their lineup of car seats. Specifically, they are transitioning to new fabrics on several models.
Clek Foonf and Fllo
Prior to this year, Clek has been using a line of Crypton Super Fabrics on the Foonf and Fllo models (in shadow, capri, flamingo, cloud, white, slate, and thunder), but with the new models beginning in March, Clek will be making the change to Crypton’s C-Zero+ performance fabrics with moisture barrier. Only the Noire fabric option (available on the Fllo) will continue to be made with Crypton Super Fabric.
This change in fabrics moves the line away from fluorine, as the C-Zero+ performance fabrics—unlike the Crypton Super Fabrics—use fluorine-free chemistry to provide stain resistance. C-Zero+ still maintains impermeability to liquids and spills, and also has anti-microbial technology. Further, the C-Zero+ performance fabrics possesses GREENGUARD Gold certification and remain free of brominated and chlorinated flame retardants.
So, what was the reasoning behind this change? Simple: helping the environment. As with many other environmentally-conscious individuals and businesses, Clek aims to continually improve their ecological footprint. To that end, the C-Zero+ performance fabrics were made to be more environmentally friendly thanks to the C-Zero+ chemistry. This is all done without sacrificing effectiveness, comfort, or appearance.
As with previous treatments, C-Zero+ is a factory-applied process in which the entire fabric is immersed, thus ensuring that the treatment reaches every fibre.
C-Zero+ performance fabrics allow for steps toward protecting the environment while still offering fantastic protection to your child.
Clek Liing
Clek Liing is the newest addition and launches with several fabric options, including:
- Jersey (Chrome and Carbon), free of brominated and chlorinated flame retardants.
- Mammoth, 100% merino wool. Mammoth is completely free of all known flame retardants and it is naturally flame-resistant.
- Crypton C-Zero+ Performance Fabrics (Thunder and Slate).
It is Clek’s goal to minimize any impact on the environment and switching to C-Zero is a step in that direction. With these performance fabrics, you can rest easy knowing that we are not only keeping your child safe and secure today but helping to ensure that their future is clean and safe.
As for the Clek Oobr, Olli, and Ozzi, the emphasis has been on updating the car seats, so no changes have been made to the lineup of booster seats for 2019.
