How Belan.J started?
Belan.J was created out of July's passion for bringing unique, beautiful, and sustainable apparel for children and families. As a mother of three, her daily mission is to raise her children with a healthy lifestyle and provide them with the best quality of life possible. She hopes that the children who wear Belan.J clothing experience the same care and quality that is woven into every piece.
Before launching Belan.J, July dedicated her working hours as the store owner of Active Baby, a local baby store offering a variety of categories for young children and families. Since serving the local community through her stores since 2009, she has gained valuable insights into what local mothers might prefer.
From selecting the softest fabrics, finalizing each color and print, to bringing them to life through photoshoots and launches, creating Belan.J has been a labor of love and a joyful creative process.
Since Belan.J was born in Vancouver, its design draws inspiration from Canadian culture and local elements, reflected in the brand's signature watercolor style.
As for the brand name, "Belan.J" is derived from a combination of her daughters' names: Bell, Ruann, and Hailan, with the "J" representing her own name, July. She was delighted to discover that when pronounced in French, it means "beautiful angels."
July extends her heartfelt thanks to those who have chosen Belan.J, allowing their children to shine in the brand's clothing and fostering deeper connections within families through shared experiences. She is grateful to have you as part of this journey.

An added advantage is the fabric's GSM, or "Grams per Square Meter," which in Belan.J's pieces is higher, providing extra durability, warmth, and opacity to withstand daily wear and tear.
